Owatrol End Grain Preservative PCD 91 – for treating cut ends of treated timber

PCD 91 is a water-based, end grain preservative for wood that has been pressure treated to classes 3 and 4. Applying PCD 91 to any exposed cut, bored or notched ends will maintain the integrity and preservation of the wood due to it’s high wetting properties.

Available in Green and Brown, PCD 91 is ready to use and easy to apply, whether used on site or in a workshop environment.

Ideal for using on decking, cladding and garden furniture, PCD 91 is perfect for use on all wood pressure treated to classes 3 and 4.

Product Description

Coverage: 5-7m2 per litre

Suitable Surfaces: All wood pressure treated to classes 3 & 4
Surface preparation

Surface must be clean, dry and free of dirt, grease, grime and any previous finishes.

Application

Brush, roller or spray

Apply a liberal saturating coat to all exposed cut, bored and notched ends.
Wipe off any drips or runs.
Allow to dry.

Dipping

Soak wood for 5 minutes.
Drain off excess PCD 91.
Allow to dry.
PCD 91 is a preservative. It does not replace a finish.
After the 48 hours drying time, pressure treated wood should be finished with Seasonite or another Owatrol product suitable for new timber to reduce the effects of weathering – greying, splitting, warping etc as a result of sudden exposure to sun and rain.
PCD 91 is compatible with any single or 2 pack finish.

Clean Up

All that is required for clean up is water.

Things to remember

Apply between 5°C and 35°C.
Shake gently to avoid product frothing or stir thoroughly before and during application.
