SmartFRAME Pressure Treated Deck Joists

SmartFRAME is designed for use in external structural applications where a 30-year service life is desirable. The most common application being frames supporting wood plastic composite, modified wood and all other premium quality timber decking.

We recommend 47 x 100mm (2″ x 4″) timber for deck subframes that are laid on the ground over a weed control (landscape fabric).

We recommend 47 x 150mm (2″ x 6″) timber for deck subframes that are elevated off the ground with post and beam construction over a weed control (landscape fabric).

Applications

Use as deck support, fence and pergola posts and similar garden structures

Use structurally, to support premium quality decking or to support timber frame wall construction as a sole or binder plate

The joists should be laid 400mm apart.

For extra strength we recommend fixing noggins between the joists to create a grid system.
