Cambridge Decking – Price per length

Q-Deck Cambridge style decking is made from high quality certified softwood.

Its finished size after machining is 20.5 x 95mm and is a reversible profile.

Having one smooth face it is a very versatile decking board as it can be used for a variety of external applications.

It is particularly suited for creating the facia edges to decks. Being the thinnest in the range it is the most economical per square metre but please note you need to use more supporting joists.

It is preservative pre-treated with Tanalith E Extra giving the timber water repellent properties.

We recommend initially treating with Owatrol Seasonite new wood protector

Size Issues

Wood swells when it is pressure pre-treated with a waterbased preservative – as much as 4% of the finished size after machining – and shrinks as it dries.

We therefore advise letting the deck boards, in particular, dry somewhat before fitting. This not only helps to achieve a more constant size but improves their workability.

Although minimised by the water repellent additive used with Q-Deck¨ products, climatic changes cause the wood to continually shrink and swell in service and in turn this movement may vary from piece to piece.

Q-Deck products are machined from slow grown and carefully selected softwood to give a better looking and smoother finish.

Q-Deck products are hand selected during manufacture. During the milling process Q-Deck is visually graded to minimise problem boards

All Q-Deck¨ products have DeckMark¨ accreditation independently assessed by the Timber Decking Association (TDA). This gives you the confidence to use our products knowing that their quality has been independently assessed. The TDA developed the DeckMark¨ to provide an independent quality assurance scheme.
