New Oak Railway Sleepers can provide a robust feature when used with decks or in general landscaping, i.e. steps, edging, raised plant beds and retaining walls. Cut and fit to your required design using specialist landscape screws

Please note fresh sawn oak will have some discoloration on the faces and some shrinkage & movement will be inevitable as the oak dries out.

Garden Grade sleepers typically make allowance for at least 1 good edge and 1 good face

We recommend installing your project using our SleeperSecure Fittings, and protecting the sleepers with Walther Strong Sleeper Tape

We can cross-cut railway sleepers to your specifications.

We also stock bulk bags of Topsoil and various bulk bags of Bark. Please see our ‘Topsoil, Landscaping & Playgrade Bark’ section for more details. These can be used for landscaping or internal features such as mantlepieces and fire places

End trimming may be required

Surface checking, shrinkage and some face splitting will occur during the natural drying process of the timber.

Some blue black staining may occur on the Oak when it has been in contact with ironwork, along with water staining which can be removed with recommended cleaning agent.

Tannin leach may arise from the fresh sawn Oak. Stain protection may be required on susceptible areas.
